SPH Foundation presents Shop For Your School

Singapore, 16 February 2014 – Singapore Press Holdings Foundation (SPH Foundation) is the proud sponsor of Shop For Your School, a campaign that rewards best proposals by students to make a difference to their school, peers or community. The campaign is organised by Little Red Dot, a student publication by The Straits Times.

The school with the best idea will win a cash prize of $5,000 to turn their proposal into reality. The second and third placed school will win $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.

To participate, primary school students are required to come up with a plan on how to improve their school or community, and create a wish list of how the prize money will be spent. Entry forms for the competition will be available in Little Red Dot issues from February 18 to March 18. Schools can submit multiple entries either by post or by email. All entries are to reach the Editor of Little Red Dot before March 30.

Ms Ginney Lim, General Manager of SPH Foundation, said: "Shop for Your School is an effective platform to reach out to the young. It engages the students to help the community, which is an important part of moral education. The project also fulfils SPH Foundation’s two areas of focus – education and charity/community giving. We look forward to the creative ideas that the students will come up with."
