Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve - Nature Appreciation Art Workshop

The Foundation continued with its support for programmes to protect the environment and raise awareness about conservation efforts by sponsoring a two-day nature appreciation art workshop organised by Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve (SBWR).

Held on 18 and 25 June 2005 at the Nature Cove, the two-day nature appreciation art workshop was organised as part of SBWR’s World Environment Day programme for the month of June, and was attended by students from 6 secondary schools.

With “Green Cities” as the theme, the workshop was conducted by SBWR’s volunteer and resident artist, Mr Tham Pui San. Created using mixed-media (collages), the completed students’ art works were displayed at Nature Cove for one month. Selected art pieces were also produced into a series of posters for distribution to all schools in Singapore.

*Nature Cove is a resource centre open to the public at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve (SBWR) and it was set up in 2004 with sponsorship from the SPH Foundation. The Foundation also makes a yearly donation to maintain this centre through the purchase of new resource materials like books and DVDs on nature and conservation.
